The Process

Catalogued all 3,627 files, identified file types, duplicates, and naming patterns across the entire downloads folder.

Designed a folder hierarchy based on actual usage patterns: Work, Personal, Dev Projects, Private, and Installers.

Gave every cryptic file a human-readable name. Classified duplicates and moved them to _Archive folders.

Moved each file to its proper location in the new structure, grouping by project, client, or category.

Created 7 guide files (What Is This Project.md, Start Here.md, etc.) so the structure explains itself.

Why It Matters

No more scrolling through hundreds of root-level files. A clear hierarchy means you always know where to look.

Guide files in every project folder explain what things are and why they exist — perfect for onboarding or revisiting old work.

Sensitive documents (medical, financial, identity) are isolated in a Private folder, separate from work and creative files.

60+ duplicate files identified and moved to _Archive folders — still accessible, but no longer cluttering your workspace.

Every single file was preserved. Nothing was deleted — duplicates and cryptic files were renamed and archived safely.
