ChatGPT

OpenAI's AI assistant, a conversational tool that can write, reason, analyze documents, generate images, and answer questions across nearly any topic.

ChatGPT is an AI assistant made by OpenAI. It operates as a conversational interface: you type or speak a prompt, and it responds with text, analysis, code, or images depending on what you ask. Unlike specialized tools that do one thing, ChatGPT is a general-purpose AI. It can draft emails, explain concepts, write code, analyze uploaded documents, generate images (via DALL-E integration), and work through complex problems in natural language.

The Simple Version

Think of ChatGPT as a very capable assistant who has read an enormous amount of the internet and can help you think through almost anything. You have a conversation with it the same way you’d talk to a knowledgeable colleague: ask a question, get a response, push back, ask follow-ups, refine. The quality of what comes back depends heavily on how clearly you describe what you want.

What It Is Good At

ChatGPT excels at creative and generative tasks: writing, brainstorming, logo prompting, drafting brand guidelines, explaining unfamiliar concepts, and producing structured outputs (like a CSS token system or a markdown brief) from a description of what you need. It is particularly useful as a creative front-end before handing off work to a more specialized tool.

How It Is Used in This Project

On this site, ChatGPT was used as the creative layer: generating the brand logo, extracting a design token system from the logo image, writing the brand voice rules, and producing structured markdown briefs that Claude Code could then execute. Two different tools, each doing what it does best, connected by a hand-off file.

Try It

ChatGPT is available from OpenAI. The free tier provides access to most features; paid tiers unlock image generation, file uploads, and the latest models.
